this hilarious face...lol must have been some strong
Braving the hill....soo cold up there...
Lesley and Aimee trying to stay warm..
Dad and Blake....in the ditch...lol!
Dad cheesin it with his eyes closed...which is very typical!!
Everyone trying to stay warm by the fire.
These girls need some heat!!! :)
Maggie the little snowbuddy.. Ending of the day.....fun times...
After a few hours on the "Lindsey Slopes" we decided to turn in for some hot veggie soup and chili. We had some good laughs and enjoyed the warmth for a little while. David and I enjoyed having everyone over and look forward to another snow day soon!! Maybe Steph will be ready by then.. ;)
I had to take a step back and pause for a moment. Emotions overflowing...even as I type. I don't know exactly what it was about this Christmas but it really touched my heart.
I am so thankful in my heart and truly feel that God has richly blessed me and my home in this past year. Something I have longed for, and feel so unworthy. I feel that God has drawn me closer to a lot of my friends and family and that has had a tremendous effect on our home.
I'm thankful that everyone was able to be at Christmas, (that could). I'm thankful for one more year with my sweet mamaw. There will never be another one like her, I love her soo much.
I'm thankful that God has allowed us to remain healthy.
I'm thankful for the love I have in my heart, the closeness I feel with everyone. So here's to a big thank you for just being you, a friend. :)
It's soo easy to take things for granted, but I want everyone to know that I love you from the bottom of my heart.
Rough day??? Don't worry this will make you smile!!!
End of the day I go to pick Lane up and notice I've lost my cell phone. So..I pick him up head back to Brownsville office to look, of course it's not there that would be too easy! I head back home frustrated my mind going 90 miles a minute trying to trace my tracks...when all of the sudden out of no where appears a huge deer on the road...did I mention that it was DEAD!! I'm in a curve with a truck in front of me and he straddles and so I gasp...I have no choice but to straddle..considering I have no time to think!!! OMG....you can just imagine the enchanting sound of bones, guts, hide and all raking the under side of my car!!!! LOVELY!!! So I get home pull in the garage and smell what smells like an electrical fire..I freak out and head upstairs...nothing is on..everything looks fine. So I head back downstairs and notice the smell is coming from my car. I look underneath..........................OMG....are you ready for this??????? Uh......there was hide and guts dangling from my car...the smell was atrocias!!!! I instantly grab Lane and head to the carwash. This is where it gets good!!! I get the sprayer and turn on soap, get down on my knees with my head resting on the concrete..which is all nice and wet!! I spray and it looked like a food processor going....guts flying every direction possible and if that's not embarrasing enough...I've got Lane on the other side saying "OHHH gross mom that's the dead deer's guts!!" Really? I'm sure the people at Minit Mart didn't hear you!!! I have men staring at me as I'm almost in a lay down position!!!! So with my pants and hair on one side soaking wet I go over to look and I swear it looked like someone just did surgery...not sure but I'm almost certain it was intestines...and ...they wouldn't go down the stupid drain!!! So I do all I can do head back home and it still smells terrible and still some remains left burried in there. I'm leaving the car outside in hopes of a wild animal or vulture will do their job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh and guess what my stinking cell phone was in my purse in a side pocket on vibrate all along!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously...I could start my own column!!!!!!!!!!
Well, another summer quickly passes us bye and our sweet little babies start another school year. Lane was up bright and early 5:15...sounds crazy for someone who was sad to have to go to school..right??? All summer Lane was dreading going back to school. He loves his teachers but as many of you know he would rather be riding his four wheeler or seeing how much dirt he can manage get all over him...However today he was ready..we checked into school and I sat with him while he ate his breakfast...then....we came to the end of the hall and he said are you going out that door?????????!!!!!! I said will you be okay??..(don't he need me to console him and tell him everything is going to be okay while wiping his tears..because he is going to miss me soo bad) Instead...he was like "Yeah I'll see you this afternoon!!!"
However..he did kiss and hug me about five times and that helped some..:) He loves his teacher (Mrs. Dana) and seems to be pretty excited so far. I went and brought him home for lunch and let him ride his four wheeler...looked outside and found him hooking "his Chevy" up to the four wheeler...I thought how cute..I'll snap a picture..then he took off and wrapped a huge chain around the inside of the four wheeler...YIKES!! :)
Yesterday, Lane and I went to Mamaw's to fish a little...hmmm..well you could say I'm not the avid fishermen..considering we used hotdog for bait and I brought a utility glove in case we actually caught one..to remove the fish..lol!!! To my surprise we caught 7 bluegill and one monster fish that broke our line... Kathy had to take the first one off the hook!! I just hate the way they flop around....=)
We hope all of our friends and family had a great first day back and has a great year!!
Okay...sad news hit the Lindsey household..I have been getting so exctited about having a little one and anticipating to switch my insurance over (we didn't have maternity). So I had been told that it would go into effect immediately and so I didn't worry about anything much..(just switch it over).....Well to my surprise today I was informed by the actual insurance office that I had a 12 month waiting period!!! To some may not be a huge deal but to me..I have to say...it hurt pretty bad!!!!!!! I'm so ready for a little one and to think that I have to wait a year and then 9 months (at the least) just kills me. I just hate having that much more age difference between Lane and baby #2. However I'm going to try to look at this as positive as I can and love what I have now (Lane) and try to enjoy this special time before baby 2 enters this world. Sorry just had to vent before I explode!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for everyones nice words of encouragement!!! In time...I just have to be patient!!
Celebrating our 11yr. anniversary. Lane the fisherman. My baby.. If I only had longer arms..lol Sweet baby Ella getting a bath Lane jumping off of Trent and Robynn's
houseboat. Lane's 10 pound bass. Celebrating father's day..(Aimee was in Louisville
with Brian's family).
Long time no post...hard to believe David and
I have been married 11yrs. We celebrated by going out
to eat at Colton's and playing a little minature golf..nothing
too romantic..but still a lot of fun..:)
Lane was soo excited to catch this ten pound bass...he held it as long as he could for everyone to take pics..and then his little arm gave out and he dropped it.....into the lake....I believe that is the fastest I've seen Trent move..he managed to get it..lol!!! We had a great time at the lake with the Madison families.. Lane was a brave soul jumping off the top of the houseboat..he doesn't get that from his mama..lol!!!!
Finally father's day...whew is it me or is it a lot of running..if I didn't get a enough of Colton's Friday...we went back Sunday...lol..but it was great...followed by a cookout, swimming and cornhole at David's family. As all of you know I love my dad very much and feel he is irreplaceable....but I'm just as thankful for the wonderful.. caring father that David is to Lane.....and to baby #2........................????? Can't wait...and no I'm not pregnant...YET!!!!.....:)
